England, 1936. After a scandalous celebrity divorce, British tennis star Nevile Strange (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) and his ex-wife Audrey (Ella Lily Hyland) make the unthinkable decision to spend a summer together at Gull’s Point, their childhood home and the coastal estate of Nevile's aunt, Lady Tressilian (Anjelica Huston).

Towards Zero has been adapted for the screen by Rachel Bennette, who has revealed some of the changes she made to the original story, explaining these "were driven by the dramatic challenges of the three-hour drama, and the need to dig deeper into the characters and themes to find the emotional truths of the bigger story, and build the plot".

Dependably excellent veterans Anjelica Huston, Matthew Rhys, and Clarke Peters play central roles in Towards Zero, and the rest of the cast is filled out by rising stars like Hyland ( Black Doves ), Jackson-Cohen ( The Haunting of Hill House ),
