In a break from tradition, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that there will be no official captains' meet or photoshoot ahead of the 2025 Champions Trophy, which will be hosted in Pakistan.

The BCCI will not have to worry about sending Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma to Pakistan as the PCB has reportedly decided to cancel the captains’ event and official photoshoot for Champions Trophy 2025 due to logistical challenges.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will skip the traditional captains' meet and photoshoot due to logistical issues. With matches spread across four venues in two countries, teams will arrive just before the competition.

Although the Champions Trophy usually features a captains' photoshoot and media event, this time, the PCB has opted to skip these due to timing and logistical challenges.

According to reports from Cricket Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to announce the squads for both the Champions Trophy and the Tri-Series within the first few days of February.

The final ceremony will be held in Lahore on February 16, attended by former cricketers and ICC officials. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has already met with PM Shahbaz Sharif to finalize the arrangements.

The opening match of the 2025 Champions Trophy between Pakistan and New Zealand will be a full-house after all 28,000 tickets were sold out.

India will be playing their Champions Trophy matches in Dubai as part of a hybrid model deal between the ICC, PCB and BCCI and if they qualify for the final, then the title clash would also be held in the UAE city on March 9.

Fans can now purchase the tickets for each game of the 2025 Champions Trophy from the TCS Website or dedicated centres.
