Stanley R. Jaffe, the veteran producer and studio executive who won the Best Picture Oscar for “Kramer vs. Kramer,” has died at his Rancho Mirage home at the age of 84, according to his daughter, Betsy.

Stanley R. Jaffe, who won an Oscar as producer of "Kramer vs. Kramer" in 1980 and served in top positions at several studios, died Monday.

His “Kramer vs. Kramer” won for best picture in 1980, one of many high points in a career that saw him in top jobs, twice, at Paramount.
