The Minneapolis Police Department is no longer under federal oversight after a judge ruled on Tuesday to dismiss it a proposed consent decree "with prejudice," meaning it can't be filed again.

Less than a week after the Trump administration moved to dismiss a consent decree outlining reforms for the Minneapolis Police Department, a federal judge has signed off on their request, marking its official dissolvement.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said the city would be proceeding with the measures laid out in the agreement anyway.
