After hard-fought series wins over the Colorado Avalanche in Round 1 and the Central Division champion Winnipeg Jets in Round 2 of the Stanley Cup playoffs, the Dallas Stars simply had no answer for the Edmonton Oilers in the Western Conference finals.

Make it all the more shocking is that DeBoer went with a cold goalie in DeSmith, who had last played more than a month ago on April 26 to close out a 4-0 loss to Colorado in Game 4 of that first-round series.
