Harvard University held its commencement ceremony today as a federal district judge said she will issue a preliminary injunction blocking the Trump administration from making changes to Harvard’s student visa program indefinitely.

On its Cambridge campus and in a Boston courtroom, Harvard touted its international students as vital contributors to its makeup.

On the same day the Trump administration asked federal agencies to cut contracts with Harvard University, dozens of students gathered for a rally in support of their international classmates.

Harvard University's Class of 2025 graduated on Thursday amid a deepening standoff between the university and the Trump administration over foreign student admissions.

Later that day, a federal judge in Boston issued an emergency order, temporarily blocking the Department of Homeland Security from removing Harvard from the Student and Exchange Visitor Program, which allows universities to enroll student visa holders.
