Here are some Memorial Day ceremonies and other related activities people can enjoy this weekend throughout Los Angeles County.

Memorial Day is supposed to be about mourning the nation’s fallen service members. But it’s come to anchor the unofficial start of summer and retail discounts.

The Village of Glendale's annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. May 26 at Glendale Elementary on Congress Avenue. The ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. in front of the Veterans’ Memorial on East Sharon Road, opposite Town Hall.

The VFW Post 9242 will host a series of events throughout the Memorial Day weekend. The first two will take place on May 24 at 10:00 am, where a flag will be placed at every veteran’s grave at both the IOOF and Calvary Cemeteries. May 25 at 9:00 am, flags will be placed at the entrances of the both cemeteries.
