Michigan football received good news on Tuesday with four-star tight end Matt Ludwig committing to the Wolverines. The Montana native pledged to the Wolverines over the likes of Texas Tech and Georgia,

Tight ends coach Steve Casula visited Ludwig in Montana on Monday and helped secure his commitment. Ludwig becomes the first tight end for the Wolverines in the 2026 class – a position of need after top-100 prospect Andrew Olesh flipped to Penn State during the early signing window last cycle.

Matt Ludwig is a four-star recruit, according to 247Sports. He is the #220 player in the 2026 class, the #11 TE and the top player in the state of Montana. Ludwig currently attends Billings West High School in Billings, MT. Michigan is a long way from home, but that isn't an issue for Ludwig.
