A fire at the Owl Metals recycling facility that caused the Peninsula Expressway to shut down is still causing an air quality alert, according to MDE.

Fire officials in Baltimore County declared that the tricky blaze at the Owl Metals building that continued to rekindle has been extinguished. For the past week, crews have been busy at the site of the partial building collapse as hotspots continued to cause additional fires until officials made it

The three-alarm fire started around 5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, which ultimately led to a partial building collapse.

Crews were on the scene at Owl Metals Inc. facility Thursday morning working to put out the fire, said Baltimore County Fire Department.
