California Sen. Sabrina Cervantes says she was falsely accused of DUI after being involved in a car crash near the state Capitol on Monday.Officers from the Sacramento Police Department responded to the area of 14th and S streets near the state Capitol building for reports of a crash involving Cervantes.

A California state lawmaker was cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs following a crash this week in Sacramento, police said. Sen. Sabrina Cervantes, D-Riverside, was on her way to work at the state capitol when the crash happened.

Footage seen by CalMatters appears to show that Sen. Sabrina Cervantes was not at fault when an SUV smashed into her vehicle.
