Police in Vallejo said Monday that a recent traffic collision led to the arrest of a suspect in multiple robberies, including the alleged theft of more than $2,500 in collectible Pokémon cards.
The robbery, conducted at knifepoint, led to the arrests of three people, the third of whom, a 35-year-old, is the owner of a trading card shop in the same area that specializes in Pokémon and One-Piece merchandise, at least according to a post on X from the owner of the store that was robbed.
Pokemon fans come in all ages and sizes, but players who are out to buy the rarest and most expensive cards may have some serious competition. Simon Cowell--a former American Idol judge and the creator of America's Got Talent--was recently spotted dropping nearly $3k on a Pokemon card. He even posed for a pic with the seller.
