The black-tailed skimmer dragonfly was spotted by volunteers at the Bog Meadows Nature Reserve in west Belfast.

"The black-tailed skimmer was a real highlight! It really shows how important it is to protect places like this for wildlife.

Dragonflies are teaching researchers and students about Boise’s ecosystem and unlocking the larger mysteries of the insects’ behavior.
