May 5 (UPI) --Archaeologists in Israel said Wednesday they recently found a rare, ancient bronze oil lamp in the City of David National Park that dates back to the first and second centuries.
The lamp is thought to have been deliberately buried in the foundations of the building during the Roman Period, subsequent to the destruction of Jerusalem in the late 1 st or early 2 nd century CE.
