Pachuca coach Guillermo Almada has submitted his resignation, which the Liga MX team has not yet accepted due to a contract buyout clause, three weeks before the Club World Cup starts.

Guillermo Almada submitted his resignation to Pachuca and will not be coaching the Club World Cup, although the club states that his contract remains valid until December 2026. There is an early exit clause requiring a payment of four million dollars if another team wishes to hire him.
