Visalia Heritage, a nonprofit that supports preservation of historic buildings, has apparently rescued the city’s Historic Recognition Program by offering to assume its fundraising duties.

After years of vacancy, the building opened as The Darling Hotel on July 1, 2020. A new plaque recognize its importance to Visalia’s history.

The plaque will be placed at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26 on the Court Street side of the Darling Hotel in downtown Visalia.
