An Arkansas school district will return to a 5-day school week calendar for the upcoming school year, after three years with a 4-day week.

The district approved new schedules, busses and sidewalks to increase pedestrian safety.

Since block schedules, Rutherford has seen improvements across all proficiency areas, along with a higher graduation rate.

The Williamsville School Board on Tuesday night rejected a district committee's recommendation to start classes later at Williamsville high schools and earlier at its middle and elementary schools.
