Netflix is the new home for the beloved children's TV show, the streaming platform announced Monday along with a special video of Cookie Monster eating the Netflix logo. According to a press release, Elmo, Big Bird and the rest of the "Sesame Street" gang will return in an all-new, reimagined 56th season of the show.

Netflix has “rescued” beloved children’s show Sesame Street and will make it available on its streaming platform, inheriting its history of LGBTQ+ representation, after US president Donald Trump pulled funding to PBS.

The streaming giant has inked a deal with Sesame Workshop for new episodes of the long-running children’s show, just months after Warner Bros. Discovery opted not to renew its output deal for the program in a strategic shift at its streaming service Max (which will soon return to being HBO Max).
