The outage is the second snake-related incident in North Alabama this month. On July 5, service was knocked out for about 19,000 Marshall DeKalb Electric Cooperative customers in and around Boaz.

ATHENS — Athens will receive about $200,000 in Rebuild Alabama funds for fiscal 2024 and plans to pave a total of about 9,600 feet on Hobbs Street and Elkton Road.
