An analysis of 500 watersheds found levels of organic carbon, phosphorus, and other pollutants up to 103 times higher after a wildfire.

The fire was reported at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday, just pass Pine Creek, along Carney Lake Road, roughly 14 miles from Iron Mountain. It is not yet clear what started the fire.
