June’s full moon, known as the strawberry moon, will rise on the evening of Tuesday, June 10. It will appear extraordinarily low in the sky.

Summer will officially begin with this year's solstice on June 20. And on Wednesday, June 11, comes a "strawberry moon," the last full moon of the Northern Hemisphere's spring. It will be at its brightest at 3:44 a.m. Eastern time in the United States.

June's full moon will be the last full moon of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. A full moon happens about once per month — or every 29.5 days — and occurs when the moon is aligned in such a way that Earth is "between" the moon and sun, according to the Lunar and Planetary Institute.
