Months after the Niskayuna school district voted to change its school nickname, the town has approved a new logo.

“Who are we, what do we like about Niskayuna, who do we want to be going forward and what are the values we want to represent,” said Marie Bosman, Chair, Logo Work Group Town of Niskayuna.

Niskayuna poised to adopt new logo after two years of work by volunteer group. Proposed logo features a heron, Mohawk River, and white pine trees, as opposed to teepees figured in old logo.

A working group formed by Niskayuna in 2022 is nearing the selection of a new logo for the town as the municipality works to update a seal that was created five decades ago.

NISKAYUNA — Following a two-year process to redesign the Niskayuna town logo, a new design presented to the public Tuesday night was met with some support, but also a lot of criticism.
