Siena Heights University in Adrian will close at the end of the next school year because of mounting financial difficulties that plague many small liberal arts colleges.

According to a letter shared with students, staff and alumni, Siena Heights University will shutter after the 2025-2026 academic year.

Incoming freshman Mason Snyder, who plans to major in sports management and received a $35,000 scholarship to attend the university, said the news was saddening.
