Iona already has eyes on a replacement as the school is targeting New Orleans Pelicans assistant coach Dan Geriot, according to ESPN. Geriot, a former Cavaliers assistant, spent one season as the head coach of Cleveland’s G League affiliate in 2021-22.

The Gaels just lost the MAAC championship game to Mount Saint Mary's on Saturday, bringing their 2024-25 season to an end. It was big for Iona to even be in the conference title game after Anderson took over the team from Rick Pitino in 2023 and essentially started from scratch.

Iona University has fired men's basketball coach Tobin Anderson after two seasons on the job. Anderson was an assistant at Siena from 2011-13.
