Israel prepared on Saturday to receive six more hostages from Gaza in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners and detainees, after accusations over the return of a misidentified body this week threatened to derail a fragile truce.

Israel has released 369 Palestinian prisoners and detainees in the latest exchange for Israeli hostages captured by Hamas as the fragile ceasefire hold.

The armed wing of Palestinian Islamic Jihad said on Wednesday that it would release the body of Israeli hostage Oded Lifshitz on Thursday.

The militant group told mediators it didn’t know a body it handed over wasn’t that of Shiri Bibas, as it had claimed.
