A man who is accused of causing a fatal crash in Rochester while serving as a Minnesota State Patrol trooper pleaded not guilty Thursday.

A settlement conference was scheduled for Aug. 20. If a resolution has not been met, Judge Lisa Hayne said, the state and defense will present their arguments on the change of venue motion.
