SINGAPORE: OCBC said that only Android apps with risky permission settings that could put a user’s mobile phone under the threat of malware will be flagged by the bank’s new security feature.

OCBC had announced the new security feature on Facebook on Sunday (Aug 6). It said: "We have implemented a security feature on our OCBC Digital app to further safeguard our customers from malware.

Beaver Chua, head of anti-fraud at OCBC group financial crime compliance, said the security feature was rolled out in response to recent malware scams that often emptied the victims’ bank accounts.
