Some church leaders in Omagh have apparently done a u-turn on their intention not to attend a memorial service being organised by relatives of the victims of the 1998 Real IRA bomb attack in the town.

With quiet dignity, relatives of the casualties of Omagh filed into the coroner's court ... they moved quietly in single file as though going into church, edging along the rows of seats.

She was the daughter of a dairy farmer and the sixth eldest in a family of ten who lived at Gillygooley outside Omagh. They all attended Omagh Baptist Church where her father was once an elder.

As a result, Sunday Mass was cancelled at the nearby St Mary's Church, while police searched the grounds. A security alert around the police station on the Derry Road in Omagh has now ended.
