The site was used as military barracks and various internment camps before being converted into a prison, officials said.

Skansie Brothers Netshed at 3207 Harborview Dr. is the city’s oldest netshed, according to the City of Gig Harbor’s website. It was built in 1910 and is now operated by the Skansie Netshed Foundation.
