A Portland area principal has been named Oregon’s High School Principal of the Year. Molly Ouche, the principal at Parkrose High School, was surprised with the announcement at an assembly last week.

Parkrose High School Principal Ana Gonzales will retire at the end of June. Gonzales, who is at retirement age, told her staff about the plan Tuesday, according to Superintendent Karen Fischer.

She was the activities director at Beaverton High School. Jared Freeman will be the new principal at Parkrose High School. He has been vice principal of school improvement at Parkrose for two years.
