Pete Hegseth has reportedly ordered the U.S. Navy to change the name of an oiler ship named after Harvey Milk, who was a gay rights activist.

Navy tradition and basic decency make clear the beleaguered defense secretary shouldn’t rename the ship. Hegseth is doing it anyway.
