The tiny island of Iona, just off the Isle of Mull on the West Coast of Scotland, is home to what is widely considered one of Scotland's most historic and sacred sites.

The Iona Community wants to raise £500,000 for the final phase of work to modernise the island's famous abbey.

Iona (ionahistory.org.uk) is open from 9.30am – 5.30pm April 1 to September 30, to 4.30pm for the rest of the year, and costs £7.10 adults, £5.70 concessions and £4.30 children.
