He and Gail have owned their five-acre flower farm for over 10 years now, but before they bought the land Route 2, they had a flower farm at their house on Peacham Pond Rd., also in Marshfield.

The annual Fourth of July parade in Peacham is a celebration of Vermont agriculture. Dozens of tractors rolled through the town Thursday, showcasing generations of farmers.

Wallace is set to head up to the farm in Peacham to begin the transition process on April 25. Leon says he’s not done and hopes to mentor a few more future farmers before he hangs up his hat.
