ARLINGTON — Prepare for major flooding and possible landslides throughout the county this weekend, as heavy rain was forecast to swell three major rivers in Snohomish County.
As of Tuesday morning, 16 roads were closed in Snohomish and King counties because of flooding, with water several feet deep over several roads, mostly around Duvall and Carnation.
One of those rivers is the Snohomish River, which the National Weather Service projects will rise around 15 feet by Tuesday or Wednesday, reaching just under "major" flood stage.
