The landscape of high school education in Indiana is rapidly changing.There are a growing number of public and private high school options in St. Joseph County.

In certain maps, many of the high schools would have split boundaries, creating several attendance islands around the county. School officials insist the proposed maps are just first drafts.

A 2024 law will require both public and charter schools with more than 50 students in “high” and “very high” hazard zones to create evacuation plans starting in the 2026-2027 school year.
