Green Hill came so close, but suffered a painful defeat in the Class 4A TSSAA softball state championship to Walker Valley.

Walker Valley won its first-ever TSSAA softball state championship, beating Green Hill 10-8 in an extra-inning epic on May 21 at MTSU.
