Pitt suffered its first season-opening loss ever at Petersen Events Center. St. Francis was 0-29 against the Panthers before Wednesday night's game.
Francis built a 46-33 halftime lead and shot 17 of 34. Pitt shot 13 of 37 in the first half. Maxwell Land's 3-pointer with 17:09 left capped a 9-2 St. Francis run for a 55-35 lead.
When Friday night arrived, St. Frances was sure to make it count. The Panthers pushed Good Counsel seven yards backward on the first series, took over near midfield and scored on the next play.

Donovan Flamer led St. Frances with 20 points, while Jasiah Cannady added 19 points for the Panthers. Jordan Brathwaite led MSJ with 19 points, while Tyonne Farrell added 16 for the Gaels.
