Today, Trinity’s holdings — in addition to the church and nearby St. Paul’s Chapel — include 14 commercial buildings in the Hudson Square area of Manhattan.

Trinity Gospel Temple’s senior pastor, Brother Dave Lombardi and his wife of 53 years, Meralene, built the church in the downtown area to gain the most access to those in need.

Lombardi coined the 150-plus young adults who joined Trinity Gospel Temple "Canton Jesus People." In short order, the church outgrew its building, which later was converted into a grocery store.
