The month of January recognizes National Blood Donor Month. The American Red Cross is encouraging individuals to donate in order to enter a chance to win a trip to Super Bowl LIX.

The push comes during National Blood Donor Month and in an effort to keep blood supplies plentiful through the winter.

The American Red Cross is urging everyone to keep the blood supply strong this winter for patients in need and is offering a big prize to encourage donations. The need for donations is greater in winter due to the weather canceling blood drives and people canceling appointments due to the flu,

Donors have until Jan. 26 to give blood at either the organization's blood drives or blood donation centers in Michigan.

The prize includes two tickets to the game, round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations, a $1,000 gift card — and the opportunity to save a life.
