Aston Villa missed out on UEFA Champions League qualification thanks to a first-half red card and controversial second-half decision in what finished a 2-0 Manchester United win at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Ten-man Aston Villa were denied a place in the Champions League after Morgan Rogers’ goal was controversially disallowed by an early whistle from referee Thomas Bramall before Manchester United scored twice to end a woeful Premier League season on a high.

Manchester United ended their 2024–25 Premier League campaign on a positive note, as they downed Aston Villa, who’ll play in next season’s Europa League, 2–0 on Sunday afternoon thanks in part to a controversial refereeing decision.
