Brock Lesnar is back on WWE programming. But what does that mean for his contract since he’s been gone since 2023? The wrestling world is still talking about the WWE return of Brock Lesnar, who shockingly returned to the company at the end of SummerSlam on Sunday evening.

Dave Meltzer, of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, has revealed that the 10-time-champion flat out refused a duel with three-time champion, Bray Wyatt, in California, a show where Lesnar ended up facing Omos instead. “Lesnar asked out of the match. It was nothing personal, [Lesnar] just felt it was the wrong opponent for his character.”

Brock Lesnar, who attacked John Cena at SummerSlam 2025, is all set to face the 17-time world champion. Their match is only expected to take place in October. Here, we explore when Lesnar can make his WWE return.
