BYD has sold more electric vehicles in Europe than Tesla for the first time, marking a breakthrough for the Chinese group’s efforts to expand into overseas markets.
Chinese EV giant BYD sold more electric models than Tesla in Europe for the first time in April, as consumer interest in Elon Musk's automaker collapsed.
BYD will offer the Seal 06 in both battery electric (EV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain options. The electric version will be available in three trims. A base model will draw power from a 65.28 kWh battery and 170 kW electric motor, providing up to 520 km (323 miles) CLTC range.

BYD has marked a dramatic rise in sales since Ayala arm ACMobility took over. Since 2024, its lineup has grown from four models to the current 10—so far. It also plans to end 2025 with 77 dealerships, challenging the number of dealers of market leader Toyota Motor Philippines.
China's electric vehicle giant BYD said on Wednesday it sold 213,325 vehicles with smart assisted driving features in April, accounting for almost half of its total sales of such vehicles as of end-April.
