Red Sox's Carlos Narvaez Forms Bond with Jason Varitek originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Carlos Narváez's tenure with the Boston Red Sox has not lasted very long. The 26-year-old catcher joined the team this past offseason via a trade with the New York Yankees, who shipped him to their biggest rivals after just six MLB appearances.
“Similar to Caballero the other day,” manager Alex Cora said. “They took a chance. They’re really good at what they do base running-wise. Volpe with the hop-hop and he goes. But Narvi, he made a great throw. He actually talked with Whit when he came in. Kind of like, ‘Hey, you have to mix up your looks and you’ve gotta be quick the plate.’”
Carlos Narváez blasted a go-ahead homer vs. the Yankees, helping the Red Sox steal a series behind a former NY farmhand they let walk.
The Red Sox have won four games in a row and six out of seven, and they have taken three consecutive series — two against the Yankees.
