This year the Bundesliga does not have the best showing in the Champions League but Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are neck and neck, having reached the quarterfinals of the competition before being eliminated by Inter Milan and FC Barcelona, respectively.

Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt secured berths in the Champions League as the Bundesliga season reached its dramatic climax on Saturday, with Heidenheim confirmed in the relegation play-off spot.

Dortmund had been outside the Bundesliga’s top-four since the third game of the season but secured their place on the final day.
