Argentine racer Franco Colapinto made headlines with a dramatic crash during qualifying for the Imola GP, but there are still positives to take from his maiden weekend with his new Alpine F1 team

Colapinto is the second driver to crash during Q1 at Imola after Red Bull's Yuki Tsunoda was sent to the medical center for precautionary checks following a horrific crash which saw his RB21 flip. Gabriel Bortoleto, Liam Lawson, Nico Hulkenberg, Esteban Ocon, and Yuki Tsunoda were eliminated in Q1.

Franco Colapinto treated the Imola weekend as a learning experience after replacing Jack Doohan at Alpine. Franco Colapinto ended up 16th among 18 classified finishers on his return to Formula 1 with Alpine in Sunday’s Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
