Banning the tush push required 24 owners votes. The Packers couldn’t recruit enough votes at the meetings in Palm Beach, Fla., in late March and early April, reportedly persuading only 15 other owners to go along with their cause, and the vote was shelved. But they felt more confident this time around and seemed to have momentum on their side.

The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported that the vote was 22-10, the same score as the Eagles' playoff victory over the Packers last January. It was also reported that five of the 10 votes to reject the proposal came from the Eagles, Ravens, Patriots, Jets and Lions.
