The Eversource Hartford Marathon (and accompanying half marathon, 5K and marathon relay) will take place Saturday starting at 8 a.m. in front of the state Capitol in Hartford and finishing in Bushnell Park.

Thousands of runners from across the country gathered in downtown Hartford Saturday morning for the 2024 Eversource Hartford Marathon. This is the 31st year of the marathon which consists of a 5K, a marathon and a half-marathon designed for runners of all skill levels.

Runners from 14 different countries, all 50 states and 151 Connecticut towns took to the starting line on Saturday, Oct. 19 for the 2024 Eversource Hartford Marathon.

The Hartford Marathon is happening on Saturday and thousands of runners, volunteers and spectators will be heading into Hartford to take part and cheer on the runners. More than 9,300 runners and walkers and tens of thousands of spectators are expected for the 26.

The Eversource Hartford Marathon stepped off Saturday morning. People were warned to expect road closures and a lot of traffic. The event is one of two expected to bring a lot of people into and through the Hartford area.
