The ACLU and other civil rights groups announced plans Thursday to challenge a newly passed Texas bill requiring public schools display a copy of the Ten Commandments in each classroom.

Critics argue it infringes the Constitution's separation of church and state and the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment.

SB 10 would require schools to post a "durable poster or framed copy" of the Ten Commandments in every public school classroom.
