Coleman was an aerobatic flight instructor for actors in the 2022 motion picture, "Top Gun: Maverick," where he flew more than 100 flights preparing actors to fly in Navy F-18 Hornets.

Several are remembering Chuck Coleman through social media posts, including fellow pilots who remember him for his mentorship.

One person was killed when an airplane that was performing at the Las Cruces Air and Space Expo crashed on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 20. The crash happened at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday and the rest of the air show was canceled after that.
