England and Wales are to be battered by high winds and heavy rain on Monday and Tuesday. The UK is still recovering from the fierce impact of Storm Éowyn last week, but must now brace itself for another weather system set to bring more flooding and transport disruption.

A new weather warning for ice and snow has been issued by the Met Office this morning, set to come into effect on Saturday evening at around tea time. In a statement, a Met Office spokesperson said snow showers and icy patches may lead to "some travel disruption for this evening and overnight".

A weather warning for snow and ice has been issued by the Met Office covering the whole of Northern Ireland. It comes into force at 7pm on Friday, January 24, and will remain in place until Saturday, January 25, at 10am. It comes as a red warning for wind due to Storm Eowyn is in force across the region on Friday until 2pm.
