The Chicago Cubs have announced that Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg, who is widely considered to be one of the greatest players in franchise history, has died. He was 65 years old. Sandberg had been battling cancer and provided an update on his health earlier this month, sharing that it had been a “challenging few months.”
For me, and baseball lovers from Philly just like me, Allen was life-altering. After a nearly 50-year wait, he was immortalized in the Hall.
